Manual Therapy

Manual Therapy Is a specialized form of physiotherapy that focuses on the treatment of functional disorders, of the joints, resulting in pain, stiffness and limited movement. Because joints never function independently, it does not necessarily mean that the joint in which you have complaints is the cause: it may also be located elsewhere in your body. The manual therapist is an expert in analysing these complex movement disorders. He can reduce and / or eliminate functional disturbances by using different mobilization techniques in combination with exercises and advice. As a result, there is an improvement in movement and a decrease in complaints.

Manual Therapy is often used to treat back and neck pain but is also suitable for all other joints and related physical complaints such as in the hands, feet, arms and legs, ribs and jaws. For example:

  • Joint pain, stiffness and instability
  • Muscular complaints such as pain, loss of strength and coordination
  • Rashes in the limbs (pain, tingling or emotional changes)
  • Headache or dizziness induced by moving the neck
  • Incorrect movement patterns such as compensation and posture problems which may lead to further complaints
